Summer in Japan runs from June to August. The weather gets increasingly hot and humid, with the rainy season starting mid to late June. It does not rain every day however, nor all day long. Spring in Japan runs from March to May. The weather is still cold in March, with snow remaining in the northern regions, but by the end of May it is pleasantly warm throughout most of Japan. Winter in Japan runs from December to February. The weather is dry and cold, with January being the coldest month. It snows in the north of Japan and at higher altitudes elsewhere in Japan, so it’s the best time for winter sports.
